You’re probably only just realising this… but you’ve (probably) never heard Hitler’s ‘normal’ voice before. That is to say, we only now hear his voice through the videos and recording of his rallying speeches. These speech recordings consist of the Fuhrer shouting and screaming, ranting and raving. There is only one known recording of his conversational voice and it’s honestly quite strange to listen to. In the recording, Hitler talks to Finnish military commander Mannerheim in 1942, in what is a hugely interesting and frank discussion about Russia’s massive supply of tanks and having to stretch resources, fight on two fronts and being forced to help Italy amongst other things.
